Volvo Trucks Launches 14-Ton FL Electric – Tailor-Made for Urban Transport

According to news released by Volvo Trucks China, the popular pure-electric medium-duty Volvo FL truck has introduced a new entry-level 14-ton variant. Equipped with an upgraded battery , it offers a more efficient and scenario-optimized electric solution for urban logistics.

The new FL Electric features customizable wheelbases, axle configurations, and battery options tailored to meet operational requirements. Its optimized battery shape and mounting ensure no interference with chassis components, while a reduced width of 2.4 meters improves maneuverability in tight spaces.

The battery system supports multiple Volvo electric vehicle models.

FE Electric (Maximum GVW: 26 tons)

Since 2019, the FL/FE series has expanded to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Volvo now produces eight electric truck models worldwide, with sales exceeding 5,000 units.

Range: Approximately 200 km (combined cycle; varies depending on load and driving conditions).

Battery Capacity: 145 kWh

Motor Output: 180 kW

Ground clearance: 240 mm

Wheelbase: 3,800–6,500 mm

DC Fast Charge: 20% to 80% in 1.28 hours (with 8 battery modules)

And its mass production will begin in the second half of 2026.
