Three models of Scania Next Era
On October 16, Scania hosted the NEXT ERA heavy-duty truck product appreciation event at its Rugao Industrial Production Base in China, themed "One Pledge, One Drive" (Note: Powered by One Consistency). The event focused on showcasing the latest advancements in the local adaptation and development of the product series. Three models were featured: the hazardous chemical transportation semi-trailer tractor, the combined driving assistance version, and a limited-edition model.
Camilla Dewoon, President of Scania Group China, confirmed that 2026 will be a breakthrough year for localized manufacturing at the Rugao Base. Currently, production is increasing steadily as planned and is gradually approaching the target capacity. The NEXT ERA series, which has just completed batch deliveries, has demonstrated impressive market performance in its initial stage and has received wide recognition from customers and partners.

Camilla Dewoon gave a speech
This series of models has been developed with a forward-looking design tailored to China's local road conditions and users' profit-driven demands. Focusing on core operational requirements such as fuel efficiency, reliability, and high utilization rates, it has been adapted for conventional transportation scenarios including general cargo, cold chain logistics, and express freight. Additionally, it integrates with China's domestic logistics digital ecosystem through advanced digital capabilities. In response to compliance requirements for hazardous chemical transportation following the implementation of China's new national standards, the brand has completed technical optimizations for the relevant models, enabling them to cover multiple hazardous chemical transportation scenarios. All necessary technical preparations are now complete, and the products will be launched once certification is obtained.

The development of the localized service system is progressing simultaneously. After achieving batch deliveries in the first half of this year, the local spare parts center has been completed, and authorized stores have been opened nationwide one after another. The localized framework has expanded from the production phase to comprehensive lifecycle service support for users, providing transport capacity solutions better suited to China’s long-haul freight market.
