New Scania Test Truck Spotted at Rugao Factory in China

The next-generation Scania truck series, showcasing its fourth "camouflage" design, has once again been spotted in China. This latest spy photo was taken at Scania's new factory in Rugao, Jiangsu—a facility that will directly supply the entire Asian market in the future. While the overall silhouette remains similar to the current R-series, the tightly wrapped front end, redesigned front fascia, and fully concealed A-pillar and instrument panel all indicate a comprehensive exterior and aerodynamic upgrade.

Notably, since its initial road test in 2023, the media have observed three camouflage patterns: black-yellow, gray-white, and dark blue. The emergence of a fourth pattern now suggests that the project has entered a more advanced validation phase, with only the final layer remaining before its global debut. Reflecting on April of this year, when black-yellow camouflaged prototypes appeared simultaneously in Sweden and China, the reappearance of the vehicle with new camouflage highlights that Scania internally synchronizes China's test data with European calibration iterations.
